SOMERSET, N.J. — (November 23, 2015) — Raritan, a leading provider of intelligent data center management, KVM and rack power distribution solutions, today announced that its AV-over-IP (RAV-IP) Distribution System has won the 2015 CRN Tech Innovator Award in the Display Category. The CRN awards recognize standout companies that have brought to market solutions that have substantially impacted the industry.
The RAV-IP Distribution System provides a simple and economical way to support digital signage and other multimedia applications. The first product in a new line of AV-over-IP solutions introduced earlier this year, RAV-IP provides high-performance video and audio streaming over flexible, low-cost – and ubiquitous – IP networks. RAV-IP is targeted at organizations deploying small to midsized AV applications that want to avoid the time, cost, and effort of complex AV systems.
A panel of CRN editors evaluated more than 200 products across 19 categories and selected Tech Innovator Award winners based on a number of factors, including technical advances, unique features, and the ability to empower solution providers to solve end-users IT challenges. Raritan’s RAV-IP took top honors in the Display Category. Honorable Mentions in the category went to ViewSonic CDE7060T 70-Inch 10-Point Touch Interactive Commercial Display, Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved Monitor (U3415W), and Epson PowerLite 1985WU.
“Our focus is on innovation and creating useful solutions for customers,” said Richard Dominach, Director of Product Management at Raritan. “We set out to create an affordable and flexible solution that delivers high-quality video and supports a variety of AV applications. Our RAV-IP solution is easy to install and use, and today is used in a wide range of small and midsized AV applications.”
“In this rapidly evolving tech marketplace, it’s critical that vendors are bringing products to the channel that help solution providers quickly deliver value to their customers,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “The products chosen for this year’s Tech Innovator Awards are solving difficult IT problems, reducing complexity or otherwise contributing to the growth of enterprises worldwide.”
RAV-IP consists of a simple encoder- and decoder-based system, connected via TCP/IP over Cat5/6 cable or fiber and installs in minutes—eliminating the time, cost and effort of complex audio visual control systems. RAV-IP streams high-quality 1080p video at up to 60 frames-per-second with low latency and minimum bandwidth.
