PX2 End-of-Life Announcement
Following a dynamic technology refresh to provide the best user experience, reliability, and ease of use to the PX intelligent PDUs, Raritan operated a global transition of PX2 and PX3 1000, 4000, and 5000 series models towards a new PDU architecture, leveraging the latest PDU controller, the iX7.
The last order date for PX2 1000, 4000, and 5000 series catalog models is December 31st, 2017. PX2 2000 Series catalog models are NOT impacted by this announcement. Click here to see the full list of EOL models.
The last ship date for PX2 models is March 30th, 2018. End-of-support for the scheduled end-of-life PX2 models is March 30th, 2020.
Most PX2 models have already transitioned to a PX3 with iX7 architecture. Click here to see which ones have transitioned.
Never install an older release than the firmware currently installed. The only exception would be if this is done under the direction of Raritan Support.
Firmware Upgrade Path — Due to file system changes in release 3.5.0, any updates from a firmware version older than 3.3.0 to 3.5.0 or newer will require an intermediate firmware update to 3.3.x or 3.4.x.
Note: Power Firmware has been renamed to Xerus™ Firmware
November 10, 2014
Caution: Only Power IQ releases 4.2 and higher are compatible with PX3.0.4.
This release contains some critical security fixes found after the Open SSL Heartbleed vulnerability (CVE-2014-0160) which was fixed in PX2.5.30. PX3.0.4 contains fixes for the Poodle and SRTP vulnerabilities. Therefore, ALL customers are recommended to upgrade to this release immediately. The Raritan PX2.x and 3.x firmware releases are NOT vulnerable to the Shellshock - BASH bugs (multiple CVEs). This firmware release is for General Availability (“GA”) on all existing Raritan PXE, PX2 and PX3 models, transfer switches (PX3TS-1875R and PX3TS-1876R) and BCM-24xx units. Use the User Guide for PX3.0.0.
