The panel discussions—to be held at DatacenterDynamics-San Francisco and AFCOM Symposium-Boston—will examine how to design rack power to make data centers reliable, responsive and future proofed; and, how best to manage a data center’s overall infrastructure with DCIM to be resource efficient and healthy.

Data center managers from Box, Nu Skin Enterprises, and VMware will weigh in on designing power chains to support higher-density loads in the “High Power Can Bring High Rewards” panel, scheduled at 2 pm in Hall 2. 

Best practices and considerations for deploying high power in data centers will be explored in this customer panel session, moderated by Jawahar Swaminathan, Director of Energy Management Solutions at Raritan.  Racks filled with 1U ‘pizza box’ servers, multiple blade server chassis, and network storage devices are driving higher demands for power.  Panelists will share how they have addressed cabinet loads upwards of 14kVA and more.  Whether renovating a current data center or building a new one, how you bring power to your racks will impact future capacity and growth.

Learn how TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, has created infrastructure agility and resiliency in its data centers in order to keep pace with explosive growth.  Hear firsthand the lessons learned, including how using high-density power in racks, with Raritan PDUs, has helped reduce infrastructure footprint while accommodating growth; how to reduce carbon footprint with hot-aisle containment; and, how to future-proof operations.  The session will also cover DCIM and how to best manage lights-out data centers.
