Congratulations to LinkedIn’s Hillsboro, Oregon, Data Center

Posted on July 30, 2017

LinkedIn’s newest data center was awarded the coveted Uptime Institute Efficient IT Stamp of Approval for energy efficiency design.

With a worldwide customer base of more than 450 million users — which is growing at a rate of two new users every second — LinkedIn is reinventing the data center to deliver flexibility and scale to its operations. By applying innovative approaches and advanced technologies, the social networking giant has increased compute capabilities per square foot in the data center — while being more efficient with electricity and other resources.

According to the company, “LinkedIn’s Oregon data center, hosted by Infomart, is the most technologically advanced and highly efficient data center in our global portfolio, and includes a sustainable mechanical and electrical system that is now the benchmark for our future builds.”

LinkedIn uses Raritan’s high-voltage intelligent rack PDUs, with outlet-level metering, which provide real-time information on power capacity. As a result, LinkedIn has doubled up servers per cabinet, prevented downtime caused by over-subscription of power circuits, as well as saved energy.1 To learn how LinkedIn’s Oregon data center uses Raritan’s intelligent PDUs to extend higher-voltage power distribution directly to cabinets to achieve scale, savings and uptime, view our webinar “How LinkedIn Scaled Data Center Operations with Three-Phase Power.”
