What is PM?
PM is the Raritan Ethernet metered rack power distribution unit. It is intended for data center applications where monitoring the power is important but switching power is not.
Is Raritan new to the power distribution market?
No. Raritan has been in the power distribution unit business since 2003.
Can the PM be used as a stand alone device?
Yes. It can be used as a stand alone power management unit.
Can the PM be integrated with other Raritan products?
No. Unlike Dominion® PX and RPC, the PM products do not integrate with other Raritan access and management products.
How does PM differ from Dominion PX and RPC?
PM supports remote power monitoring through a Web browser GUI but without as many features as Dominion PX. Unlike Dominion PX and RPC, PM does not support switching at either the outlet-level or the PDU-level.
Will other PM models be added to the PM family?
Yes. Additional PM models will be added over time.
Can the firmware on the PM be upgraded?
Yes.
Are updates to PM firmware free?
Yes.
Are there any software requirements for PCs connected to PMs?
For accessing using a Web browser, PM does not require any software to be loaded on the client; however, the browser does have to be Java enabled.

Yes. In fact, custom configuration is a PM strength.

In what form factors can I get the PM?
The PM is available in 2U horizontal rack mount and Zero U vertical mount.
Do PM models include rack mount brackets?
Yes.
Does the PM have any fuses?
No. Circuit breakers are used for branch circuit protection when required.

Does PM support SNMP TRAPs and alarms?
Yes.
Does PM provide surge protection?
No. Current models do not offer surge protection because this is usually provided by equipment upstream of a rack PDU, e.g., a UPS or a TVSS at a panelboard.
