Quick Tips to Get You Started:

1. See the SX II web-based user interface. On the left hand of the screen is the SX II device information and status. On the top of the screen are the various menus and functions to configure the device and serial services. The center panel shows the Port Access Table, which lists the serial devices connected to the SX II.

2. Click on a Port Name in the table and select Connect to launch the Raritan Serial Console and interact with a serial device. Use the Edit menu to copy/paste text to and from the device. See the additional features in the Tools menu for logging and scripts. Click on Online Help to explore the powerful features of the Raritan Serial Console. You can also use an SSH or Telnet Client to interact with the SX II and the devices connected to it.

3. Click on the User Management menu to explore the features to create users, groups, permissions, and to configure an authentication server such as Active Directory or Radius.

4. Click on the Device Settings menu to explore the many features available for initial configuration of the SXII and to setup services such as automatic configuration, event logging, port logging, modem access , direct port access, etc. Click on the help link on the upper right and type in a topic to learn more. All of these features can also be configured by the SX II’s powerful CLI.

5. Click on the Security Settings item on the Security menu to see the security settings including login limitations, user blocking, strong passwords, andstrong encryption (AES and FIPS 140-2). You can upload your own SSL certificate, create a login banner or setup firewall rules for access.
