Cat5 KVM Switch for SMBs

Raritan’s MasterConsole® CAT analog Cat5 KVM switch consolidates access and control of multiple PCs & servers to a single workstation.  Servers up to 150 feet away can connect to the MCCAT using Computer Interface Modules (MCIMs) and standard Cat5 cables. These compact KVM switches, available as a single or dual-user switches, feature 8 or 16 ports for servers and can be cascaded to support up to 256 ports.

It’s perfect for performing maintenance, administration, running applications, and troubleshooting.


Single and Dual User Models

All MasterConsole CAT (MCCAT) units are only 1U in height, fit into standard 19” racks, and are available in one and two-user models, providing up to two users with simultaneous KVM sessions without blocking.

Economical, Integrated Cat5-CIM Cables

The industry’s first fixed length Cat5 cables with integrated CIMs (Computer Interface Modules) for keyboard, video, and mouse connections to servers within 20 feet of the switch (for MCCAT28/MCCAT216 only).

KVM “Keep-alive” technology

Ensures nonstop server operation in case of power loss to the switch and allows users to add, remove and hot-swap components without interruption to the live servers.

Two User Stations

Allows a second user located up to 100 ft. (30m) away from the KVM switch, enabling “lights out” access to the server room.

Additional Features

Server and PC Agnostic

Works with servers that have PS/2 and USB interfaces. The two user models also support Mac® and Sun® SolarisTM servers.

AutoScan / AutoSkip

AutoScan allows users to scan servers at variable rates for effortless monitoring. AutoSkip allows users to bypass or filter inactive channels.

High Video Resolution

Raritan’s MasterConsole® CAT analog Cat5 KVM switch supports a wide variety of video resolutions up to and including a display size of 1600 x 1200 @ 60Hz at 100 ft.

Cascading For Expansion

Users can control up to eight or 16 servers. With the MCCAT116 and MCCAT216 models, users can expand up to 256 servers by cascading the units.

Intuitive On-Screen Display

Plug-and-play installation, auto-configuration, and easy-to-use on-screen displays. Targets can be labeled with device names for easier server selection from the OSD.

Raritan Cross Compatibility

Works with other Raritan devices like: Analog or digital KVMs, TMCAT17 LCD KVM drawers, serial CIMs, and is backward compatible with existing MasterConsole equipment.

Computer Interface Module (CIM) for MasterConsole® CAT

A CIM is a “server dongle” that connects a PC, server or workstation to a device via a Cat5/6 cable. There are multiple types of CIMs to support the different types of computer ports (USB, PS/2, VGA, HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, serial) and to perform features such as virtual media.
