—Sessions at BICSI and AFCOM—

SOMERSET, N.J., Sept. 6, 2016— Raritan®, a leading provider of intelligent data center management and rack power distribution solutions, is participating in two events next week that explore how infrastructures can prepare to support – and enable – business transformation being shaped by cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), and other digital trends.

“Data centers are under pressure to scale operations reliably and efficiently to deliver next-generation services,” says David Wood, Director Power Business at Raritan.  “As one of the top intelligent infrastructure solution providers, we work with many leading data centers that are reinventing the underlying infrastructure – including power chains – to be more responsive in terms of scale and flexibility.  At our sessions, next week at BICSI and AFCOM, Raritan and other Legrand businesses will share best practices and lessons from our innovative and industry-leading customers.”

At BICSI—a look at future-proofing rack power and cooling
At the BICSI Fall Conference in San Antonio, Raritan and other Legrand entities and associates are presenting a seminar on “Designing Scalable Power & Cooling in the Data Center.”  Join experts—David Wood, Director Power Business at Raritan; Jeff Burke, President at OptiCool Technologies; and John Lewis, Associate Principal at DataCom Design Group—on Sunday, September 11, from 1:30 - 4:30 pm.

The seminar provides a case study approach on the topic of future-proofing power and cooling design with a solid Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).  Participants will gain insight into innovative designs and solutions to ensure scalability and flexibility in power and cooling infrastructure.

At AFCOM—a look at IoT challenges for data centers

Legrand also is participating next week in the panel session “IoT and Its Impact Everywhere” at AFCOM’s Data Center World New Orleans conference.  Manny Linhares, Director of Strategy- Data Communications at Legrand, will join a panel discussion on understanding IoT’s impact on data centers, its shortcomings, and solutions that are required for successful deployments and ongoing management.  The IoT’s impact on networks, LANs and IPs, data, storage, bandwidth, power and how you manage all the data also will be addressed.  The session (ITOM 15.1) will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from 10:50 to 11:50 am.

Also at AFCOM, in booth 419, Raritan will be showing its extensive portfolio of intelligent power distribution units (iPDUs).  Learn how rack iPDUs provide reliable and energy-efficient power chains through accurate outlet, inlet and circuit breaker metering and secure power switching capabilities.  Then, visit the “Raritan Tailgate” game and refreshment area.
