Raritan Introduces New KVM Drawer, and Places it Center Stage in ‘At-the-Rack’ Savings Promotion

SOMERSET, N.J. (October 08, 2007) - Raritan today introduced a new sleek, space-saving KVM drawer with an integrated 17-inch LCD display, heavy-duty keyboard and mouse touchpad.

Used directly from the rack in which they are installed, Raritan’s KVM drawers are used by IT administrators -- in conjunction with KVM switches -- to manage the setup, administration and maintenance of rack-mounted servers in data centers and server rooms.

Raritan’s new T1700 KVM Drawer provides a high-quality TFT display with 1280 x 1024 resolution. From the on-screen display and front panel controls, users can easily switch from server to server and make adjustments.

Designed to work in tight spaces, the 1U KVM drawer requires a fraction of the space of a full-sized keyboard, monitor and mouse solution. It also consumes less power than solutions with CRT monitors. Generally available worldwide, the price of the T1700 KVM Drawer is $1,499 (U.S. List Price).

New ‘At-the-Rack’ Savings Event
The KVM drawer is part of a new rebate offer from Raritan. Under the ‘At-the-Rack’ Savings Event, customers will receive the new 17-inch LCD KVM drawer for free when they purchase a four-user Dominion® KX II KVM-over-IP switch with 16, 32 or 64 server ports. More information on the ‘At-the-Rack’ Savings Event – which runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 31.

Dominion KX II is Raritan’s next-generation KVM-over-IP switch that provides powerful productivity features to access and manage securely data center servers from anywhere. The Dominion four-user models -- DKX2-464, DKX2-432 and DKX2-416 – provide four simultaneous KVM-over-IP connections, which help increase productivity for multiple IT administrators. The Dominion KX II also enables administrators to conveniently control a remote server’s power and access storage media on remote servers during a KVM connection. According to industry experts, the Dominion KX II’s new browser-based user interface is slick and fast, whether running from the local console or remotely.
