SOMERSET, N.J. (May 24, 2006) - The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) has recognized Raritan, a leading provider of solutions to simplify IT operations, for its contributions to the association’s state-of-the-art SNIA Technology Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The SNIA Technology Center plays a key role in the association’s efforts to accelerate the development of advanced network storage technologies and standards.
Raritan was acknowledged for its contributions as a charter member of the SNIA Technology Center Champions Program. Under the program, Raritan and the other charter members -- CA, HP and QLogic – contributed key equipment to support the expansion of the SNIA Technology Center.
Raritan Chairman and CEO Ching-i Hsu was presented a plaque by Wayne M. Adams, SNIA Chair of the Board of Directors, at the Enterprise Information World Conference this week. "We thank Raritan for its generosity and support," said Adams. "With the support of industry leaders such as Raritan, we are assured that the latest technologies will be used in the development of storage standards, interoperability testing and educational programs."
"We are proud to support the SNIA's important mission to help advance storage technologies," said Dr. Hsu. "We recognize the important work being done at the SNIA Technology Center, and Raritan will continue to work with the association to support industry initiatives."
Raritan's access-and-control products and IT monitoring solutions are being used to manage the health and security of the IT infrastructure equipment located in the 14,000 square-foot SNIA Technology Center. The center houses IT equipment from more than 40 vendors. Through a comprehensive dashboard accessed through virtually any Internet browser, Raritan's CommandCenter® NOC management appliance provides the lab's IT staff with performance data and alerts on network, systems and applications. In addition, it identifies and inventories hardware and software assets, as well as monitors for security vulnerabilities and intrusions. For remote access and control of servers and other equipment in the lab, the SNIA Technology Center is using Raritan's CommandCenter Secure Gateway, Dominion KX® KVM-over-IP switches and Dominion SX serial-over-IP products. More information on these products can be found at www.raritan.com/products/.
"Not only are Raritan's solutions helping the SNIA Technology Center manage and safeguard the multi-platform equipment in the lab, they are also providing a secure way for our members to access and test equipment remotely," said Rick Bauer, Technology Director at the SNIA. "With 24X7 secure remote IP access to lab equipment, we are able to extend the reach of our hands-on lab to more members and promote greater collaboration."
