Somerset, New Jersey (January 13, 2003)—Raritan, the leading provider of KVM and remote management solutions for access and control of servers and other network devices, has expanded its management team with the appointment of Thomas M. Swift to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Swift assumes day-to-day operational responsibilities and management of Raritan and its more than 250 employees. According to Ching-I Hsu, president and CEO, Raritan, Swift will play a pivotal role in the company's future. "Tom brings to Raritan a breadth of high-tech experience spanning more than two decades at AT&T and Lucent, where he held P&L responsibilities for hardware, software, and services businesses, gained experience in most corporate staff functions, and conducted business in over twenty countries. With Tom leading our daily operations, I can focus on driving Raritan's global strategy and long-term vision."

Prior to joining Raritan, Mr. Swift was Vice President of Lucent's Worldwide Services unit, where he held a variety of line and staff assignments. Career milestones at Lucent included leading the integration of International Network Services into the company's corporate infrastructure, and growing a startup professional services business past $100 million in annual revenues. During his 16 years at AT&T, he held positions in AT&T's services, software, transmission, and computer business units. Swift has a BSE from Princeton University and holds two masters degrees—an MS in applied mechanics from Stanford University and an MBA from The University of Michigan.

"I am excited about taking over the daily operations for a company that has prospered under the most adverse economic conditions in the technology sector with double digit growth in the past two years," said Mr. Swift. "I look forward to assisting the Raritan team in accelerating the growth of this dynamic company."

Swift has two children and resides in Neshanic Station, NJ.
