-- Tighter Integration and New Features Simplify IT Infrastructure Management and Improve Server Uptime --
SOMERSET, N.J. (Oct. 10, 2005) -- Raritan – a leading provider of solutions for managing IT infrastructure – today unveiled the next release of its CommandCenter® management software appliance, along with a new global branding campaign. Raritan also introduced today four new Dominion® SX serial-over-IP secure console servers.
This latest version of CommandCenter delivers new features to simplify policy administration, and provides tighter, seamless integration with Raritan's KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switches and serial console servers. In conjunction with the new release of CommandCenter, the appliance will be re-named "CommandCenter Secure Gateway" to highlight the appliance's role as the centralized, secure gateway for monitoring, diagnosing and fixing IT equipment from anywhere. In addition, CommandCenter will become Raritan's global brand for all of its products that deliver centralized command and control.
"CommandCenter Secure Gateway is at the center of Raritan's IT infrastructure management suite – integrating all our solutions – and in the center of our customers' data centers, providing a secure gateway for managing all of their IT infrastructure equipment," said Richard Moscioni, Raritan Vice President, Sales – Americas. "Our flagship product simplifies IT management by enabling IT administrators to proactively monitor and manage today's increasingly complex IT environments -- whether sitting at the server rack or at a desk miles away."
Raritan also introduced today four new Dominion SX secure console server models, including the 16-port DSXA-16-DL and 32-port DSXA-32-DL that feature dual-LAN and dual-AC feeds. An internal modem also is included in the new DSXA-16-DLM and DSXA-32-DLM models. To meet the requirements of almost any IT environment, the Dominion SX family now has more than 20 models, ranging from four- to 48-ports, including models with DC power.
CommandCenter Secure Gateway release 2.3 enhancements include:
- Compatibility Matrix – aids in delivering alerts and managing Raritan solutions to ensure optimal operations of connected devices throughout an enterprise.
- Improved sorting functionality – enables sorting of devices, such as by names or status, so that ports can be grouped by category for easier management.
- Association Wizard -- simplifies policy creation, such as user authorization; a process that typically would take five steps can now be done in a single step.
- Tighter integration with the Dominion SX – enables users of Raritan’s serial console servers to take full advantage of all the features of CommandCenter Secure Gateway, including device discovery, backup/restore configuration and firmware upgrades.
